28th-30th June 2019: Strategy and Evolution Challenge
28th-30th June 2019: Strategy and Evolution Challenge
Part 2: The Evolution Group
With the first weekend of the event successfully covered and a fully equipped team prepped for the second half, we felt more than ready for this second event. This time it was aimed at those over the age of 14 and involved more hiking than the activities. We felt confident that this event would be just as successful even with the looming heatwave we endured. With temperatures reaching 30 degrees our main concern was dehydration and heatstroke for those taking part. However the evolution team’s strict policy of “no Water bottle, no hike” prevented any serious cases of dehydration or heatstroke, once again meaning that all was well, giving our staff a chance to enjoy the warm weather.
Overall, the two weekends were very successful and enjoyable for the staff. Observing the teens and young adults achieving their goals but also being able to relax and kick back with the evening entertainment in a safe environment was a truly rewarding experience.

21st-23rd June 2019: Strategy and Evolution Challenge Part 1
This event was spread across two weekends as the Scouting and Girl Guide community were gathered for their annual Strategy and evolution Challenge held at Cirencester Park.
Part 1: The strategy group.
This was for those under 14 and involved 30 bases of different physical and mental activities across the entire camp area. The physical activities included everything from Rock-climbing to Frisbee gold and a variety of blindfolded or balancing games! Thankfully, we had plenty of well-prepared staff on hand to deal with any grazed knee or banged head that was thrown at us meaning both our staff and those at the event were able to relax.

15th June 2019: Stowstock One4Zero
Had a wonderful time surrounded by our local community and friends at the Stowstock One4Zero event this weekend. This inaugural one-day family themed beer and music festival went down a treat!
In spite of the weather we had a great evening to enjoy the music. This relaxed atmosphere meant we were able to deal with anyone that required medical assistance swiftly, preventing any serious incidents or injuries.

Sunday saw us out in the field after two Christmas events, supporting 600 approx runners, young to old tackling a muddy cross country course in the lovely Cirencester Park. Our amazing Sports Specialist, April was put to good use.

We were honoured to be part of the Remembrance events this weekend. The Great War was a time when first aid really began to develop and the skill of triage to treat emergency casualties.

This is why we run Mini Medic courses. Simply recognising there is a problem and calling emergency services saved a life.
