Who are we?

We are based near Bourton-on-the-Water and offer high quality First Aid training to adults and children, and also Event Medical cover locally and nationwide.

All our training staff are qualified instructors and all have a background within the Healthcare sector.

We offer Ofqual regulated, HSE compliant courses for a vast array of companies and OFSTED approved courses for those in the childcare sector.

We also run First Aid courses for people who simply want a basic understanding for their own benefit – particularly popular with those who have recently become new parents, carers or grandparents.

Our Event staff are all fully qualified above and beyond being basic First Aiders. The majority are either nurses or work with the Ambulance Service.

Our Team

'We strive to deliver high quality first aid training'

Phil Miles

Operations

Qualifications: Advanced Instructor, Community First Responder, FREC 4

I had been a first aider at work for over 25 years and became a volunteer first aider and a Community First Responder during this time.  Due to a change of circumstances I took the opportunity to do this full time and make it my life.  I qualified as an advanced first aid instructor, completed additional higher level courses, along with my existing qualifications as a risk assessor, vast experience as a presenter and speaker, to create Cotswold First Aid in 2017.  I teach regulated courses to businesses, schools, care settings, as just a few examples.  I hope what makes us unique is our flexibility and being able to design bespoke courses due to our background and knowledge.  Whether it is the course content, location or time in which it is delivered.  I am very proud of our feedback and we have a 100% rebook of both courses and events.  We are attracting more and more new customers which has been reflected in our growing team that help support us, all of which share our same passion, commitment and interest.

Lisa Sheppard

Clinical Lead

Qualifications: Nurse (Adult, Paediatric & Neonatal Intensive Care), Trainer

I have been nursing for 28 years, all within a hospital environment until recently.  Being a nurse is who I am and always will be.  I now work as a community nurse locally part time and the rest is spent managing Cotswold First Aid. To me this is not work, but a passion and honour to be able to share my knowledge and reassurance.  If I had my time again I may of made pre-hospital care a career choice.  But this way I get the best of both worlds.

I teach the majority of the non-regulated courses and mini medics to the children, which I really enjoy. I get to pass on my skills and be creative at the same time.  I am always coming up with new games and ideas and cant wait to see the children's reactions.  Sometimes I get a little help from our 'head mini medic', our daughter Emily.
